Tokili Lesson 1: Making Basic Sentences
Vocabulary
- I = me
- You = si
- Eat/food = ke (base word)
Words in Tokili have suffixes to show whether the word is a verb, noun or adjective, and what tense a verb is. Here are the suffixes that go first, right after the base word:
- te = verb
- ke = noun
- le = adjective
- lete = adverb
Here is a list of suffixes that go after -te:
- te = past tense
- le = present tense
- ke = future tense
In order to make any word plural, add -pi to the very end.
Examples
mepi keteke keke - We will eat food
sipi ketete keke kelete - Youse will eat food foodly(?)
