Tokili Lesson 1: Making Basic Sentences

Vocabulary

  • I = me
  • You = si
  • Eat/food = ke (base word)

Words in Tokili have suffixes to show whether the word is a verb, noun or adjective, and what tense a verb is. Here are the suffixes that go first, right after the base word:

  • te = verb
  • ke = noun
  • le = adjective
  • lete = adverb

Here is a list of suffixes that go after -te:

  • te = past tense
  • le = present tense
  • ke = future tense

In order to make any word plural, add -pi to the very end.

Examples

mepi keteke keke - We will eat food

sipi ketete keke kelete - Youse will eat food foodly(?)
